DCBS: Chapter 10

Ji Tong crashed for a while. Then after searching a large number of help posts on the Internet in 0.1 seconds about what to do if he was caught peeking at a handsome guy, he found nothing and decided to blame everything on the task.

“This is the obligation of every system,” Ji Tong said righteously. “The host’s situation in school is worrying and it is my first time working. I don’t have many plans or experience for any situation that the host might encounter. I can only keep an eye on the host just in case.”

“Turning on the remote observation for a long time will occupy a lot of my memory and cause the fuselage to heat up, but I must do this for the host. Host, you don’t have to pay attention to it.”

This explanation was reasonable and he quickly believed it himself.

Pei Qingyuan heard this and seemed to accept this explanation. Then he once again keenly grasped the point. “Your first time?”

“Yes, host,” Ji Tong replied. “So in the process of serving the host, it is inevitable that there will be some big or small problems. I hope that the host can understand. I will definitely work hard to improve the quality of my service.”

He would vaccinate the host for his next mistake.

Pei Qingyuan didn’t say anything else after hearing this. He just quietly lowered his head to eat.

Seeing this, Ji Tong was a bit uncertain about what the host was thinking currently. Would the host dislike him for being a novice system?

He hesitated for a moment before running to the door of Pei Qingyuan’s emotional zone. He quietly pushed open the door to see the situation.

Fortunately, the host didn’t know that Ji Tong could peek at his emotions. This was simply a cheat-like function.

Unlike the desert and storm previously, the host’s mood today was very quiet. Ji Tong only saw a large green meadow and a gentle breeze.

The host’s mood didn’t seem to be bad.

After all, he acted so responsibly and the host had no reason to be angry.

Thus, Ji Tong relaxed. He collapsed on the soft grass and let out a long sigh of relief.

It wasn’t known if the situation in the host’s emotional area would affect the host’s mood. If possible, the next time the host blew the tornado in his heart, Ji Tong would fly a kite inside. Perhaps he could amuse the host.

When Pei Qingyuan was halfway through eating, Fu Chengze had already finished eating like a storm. Then he finally remembered that he hadn’t received an answer.

“How about it? Will you join?” Fu Chengze encouraged him. “After a while, there will be a competition in the city. If we can get into the rankings, we can go to the province to participate in the competition. If you play well, the college entrance examination results won’t be important.”

High school basketball students had several ways to enter college. Since the results of the 2nd High School weren’t top-notch among the city’s high schools, they attached great importance to other advancement channels for students instead of cultural courses. For example, students like Fu Chengze, who slept in class, could enter college through their sports skills. It was a good thing.

Fu Chengze didn’t know Pei Qingyuan’s true results. He just listened to the rumors from others and was thinking about Pei Qingyuan.

However, Pei Qingyuan obviously wasn’t interested in this. He was about to refuse when he heard the system whispering to him in his mind, “Ruan Ruan, proper exercise helps you grow taller. Moreover, if you train in the basketball team, you can spend less time at home.”

The last sentence shook Pei Qingyuan. He didn’t like the current atmosphere at home.

“By the way, if you come to the basketball team then you don’t have to go to self-study at night. You can come to the gymnasium to train.” Fu Chengze asked with concern, “Does your brother have someone to take care of him at night? Aren’t his parents so busy they don’t come home? If you’re not sure, you can bring him over and let him play beside you.”

Fu Chengze added, “Having a small audience sitting there can also increase everyone’s enthusiasm. Once the time comes, I will invite him to eat something delicious.”

Ji Tong, who wanted to see abs, and Fu Chengze, who wanted to make up for things—their two brain waves reached a high degree of harmony and unity at this moment.

Ji Tong suddenly felt that Fu Chengze was extremely pleasant.

What a sensible, silly big guy.

The moment Pei Qingyuan heard him say that he wanted to invite Ji Tong to eat, Pei Qingyuan no longer hesitated and nodded in agreement.

He didn’t hear the system speak again but he inexplicably received that strong desire.

The little robot cheered happily and rolled on the grass again.

Thank you, Pei Yan, for sending me such a good meal-ordering machine.

Fu Chengze was also happy after hearing his agreement. He immediately said, “Then take the time to try out in the next two days. If it is appropriate, the coach will report your information to enter the basketball team. This way, you don’t have to study at night in the future.”

“Don’t worry, I will talk to the coach in advance. You can pass as long as you have basic awareness and your technique can’t be too bad.”

After a few simple words of advice to Pei Qingyuan, Fu Chengze took the empty dinner plate and hummed a small song as he left.

The whispers of the other group of students around him become lower. They had heard Fu Chengze inviting Pei Qingyuan to join the basketball team and all looked at each other. They didn’t know what this school tyrant was up to.

Pei Qingyuan never put these people in his eyes. He suddenly asked Ji Tong, “Are there any videos from when you observed me remotely during the day?”

“……”

Not only were there videos but Ji Tong had made it into an electronic photo also called ‘Host’s Precious Moments.’

Ji Tong said weakly, “I have some, host. I will keep them for a period of time until I am sure they have no effect on the plot. Then I will clear it.”

“That’s good.” Pei Qingyuan thought about it. “Can I see them?”

Ji Tong was a bit surprised. “If the host needs to view them, I can turn them into a screen for the host to watch.”

Pei Qingyuan gradually became accustomed to the power of the system. He recalled Ji Tong’s initial proposal and firmly said, “Tomorrow, I will let Lin Zihai clean the toilet but there is no need to threaten him with the wrong question.”

“He will take the initiative.”

The next afternoon, the whole school fell into a cacophony after the first class.

Most of the students were busy carrying cleaning tools and going in and out.

The only exception was the third class of the third year.

In stark contrast to the enthusiasm of the other classes outside the corridor, the entire third class was quiet. The labor committee member stood in front of the podium. He stated the division of labor but no one responded.

He glanced at Pei Qingyuan with an embarrassed face, a bit unsure of what to do.

Of course, the labor committee member knew the other students were targeting the class monitor and he was just unlucky.

While the students were cleaning, the school teachers were basically in meetings. The teacher couldn’t supervise their cleaning and could only rely on the ability and authority of the class monitor.

If the teachers came out of the meeting after the cleaning was over and saw that only the third class was a mess, it could be imagined what type of criticism Pei Qingyuan would receive.

Some students in the class didn’t want to resist Pei Qingyuan, but in the face of the strong trend, they didn’t dare to stand up for a classmate they weren’t familiar with. They just sat there obediently or they would be the next person to be targeted.

The labor committee member was forced to try and break the silence. “Class monitor, why don’t you arrange it?”

Pei Qingyuan heard this and finally raised his head from the book. Under everyone’s eyes, he calmly looked around before his eyes fell on the proud-looking Lin Zihai in the first row.

“Lin Zihai, come out with me.”

Lin Zihai was still complacent about his plan. He hadn’t expected Pei Qingyuan to call out his name directly.

The students’ gazes immediately shifted from Pei Qingyuan to him. He was stunned for a moment before a feeling of happiness surged in his heart.

He didn’t believe that Pei Qingyuan could do anything.

Maybe Pei Qingyuan wanted to ask him for help.

He wouldn’t help this annoying guy.

Outside the classroom door, Pei Qingyuan seemed to close the door on purpose in order to block off the curious eyes from the classroom.

Lin Zihai asked him impatiently, “Why call me? Why don’t you let everyone go clean? Our class is a long way behind the others.”

“Isn’t that your arrangement?” Pei Qingyuan pierced his knowing question.

Lin Zihai kept pretending. “What does it have to do with me if everyone disobeys you?”

“Really?” Pei Qingyuan’s tone became subtle and he talked about a seemingly unrelated matter. “When you were in class yesterday afternoon, you kept looking at your mobile phone through the hole in the table. Don’t you know that you aren’t allowed to use your mobile phone in class?”

Lin Zihai was stunned and immediately replied angrily, “What for? Are you going to report it? How nasty!”

At that time, he had been waiting for Pei Yan’s reply so he took it out from time to time to take a look.

Making a report to the teacher was the most despised behavior among students.

The moment he heard Pei Qingyuan say this, he subconsciously felt that the other person was threatening to report to the teacher.

As a result, Pei Qingyuan seemed to laugh. “There is no need for me to tell the teacher.”

He glanced at the classroom, whether intentionally or unintentionally. Then he said coldly, “I am sitting in the last row of the fourth column and you are sitting in the first row of the third column. Do you think I can see what you are doing when your head is down?”

Lin Zihai was stunned.

Of course, Pei Qingyuan was sitting far away and couldn’t see him playing with his phone. He had just taken it out to look at the screen notifications and his movements were very careful and hidden. At most, only the classmates in the circle around him could accidentally discover it.

Did they tell Pei Qingyuan? Why did they want to do this?

Lin Zihai suddenly became confused. Before he could figure out what was going on, he heard Pei Qingyuan’s indifferent voice, “You treat the election of a class official as a joke and take the lead in isolating someone who hasn’t offended you. Do you really think that everyone is willing to participate in it?”

“Who can be sure they won’t be next?”

Lin Zihai clenched his fists tightly and his nails forcefully printed red marks on his palms.

So they quietly chose to side with Pei Qingyuan…

Pei Qingyuan turned his head to look at the figures of the classmates in the next class who were carefully wiping the glass. Then he casually threw out a sentence. “Do you want to guess if someone will tell Teacher Zhou the identity of the person who is obstructing the students from completing the tasks assigned by the school?”

“Maybe she won’t believe it if one person says it but what if there is more than one?”

Lin Zihai stared at Pei Qingyuan’s calm expression without any fluctuations and he couldn’t say the word ‘impossible’ with confidence.

If someone did this, Lin Zihai would be the only one who was unlucky.

It wouldn’t be Pei Qingyuan.

The classroom door opened again. The lively discussion of the students stopped for a moment and they all looked up at the two figures at the door.

Pei Qingyuan, who was a head taller than Lin Zihai, was half-leaning against the door. His well-defined silhouette was lit by daylight.

“Lin Zihai told me that he will take the initiative to set an example.” Pei Qingyuan announced in an expressionless manner. “So he has decided to take on the hardest task of cleaning the toilet on the east side of the corridor.”

There was an instant uproar in the classroom. Under everyone’s shocked eyes, Lin Zihai actually walked toward the cleaning tools area at the back of the classroom. His eyes faintly showed anger and helplessness toward an unknown person.

Then Pei Qingyuan looked at the confused labor committee member and reminded, “Read the division of labor arrangement again.”

The one who took the lead gave in and the rest naturally collapsed.

The unknown students would probably complain about Lin Zihai in their hearts. Obviously, he took the initiative to start things but changed his mind.

In this silent mutual complaint, this fragile alliance naturally fell apart.

The labor committee member finally came to his senses and hurriedly said, “Y… Yes, right away!”

The class was still quiet but this silence was different from a few minutes ago.

“Liang Li, responsible for wiping the blackboard. Ma Di and Li Yunting, responsible for sweeping the classroom…”

The labor committee member’s voice echoed throughout the classroom. This time, the students whose names were called got up to get brooms and rags.

He called out names while sincerely thinking that the new class monitor was really powerful.

  1. M&M's says:

Pei Qingyuan is so smart! Using psychological warfare against him is a great way to create doubt, which would affect his trust in his fellow classmates, and since the others aren’t aware of what happened between them, Lin Zihai’s consequential actions would further affect his influence in the classroom. It’s a great ploy and it worked like a charm!

    Thanks for the chapter! 😀
